Typical construction lifts
- Structural steel beams, columns and moment frames
- Joist and metal-deck bundles
- Steel shade structures and canopies at schools, parks and parking lots
- Precast concrete pieces, vaults and barriers
- Lumber, block and roofing materials to upper floors or roofs
- Mezzanines, stairs and prefabricated assemblies
What to have ready
- Heaviest pick, piece count and roughly how many picks per day
- Building footprint and where the crane can set up, plus the maximum reach needed
- Your rigger or signal person, or ask the operator if you need one
- Inspection timing or other trades the crane schedule depends on
- Permits or street closures if the crane will sit in the right-of-way
Keep crane time productive
Have pieces shaken out, tagged and staged in the order they'll be set. Have connectors ready on the deck. Delays waiting on materials or inspections are usually still billed crane time. For local permit and site notes, see steel and construction cranes in Yuma.
