Crane rental for solar projects

Solar work needs a lot of lifting, from module pallets and racking steel to inverters, transformers and battery enclosures. Some jobs are single picks and others are recurring work over weeks. Describe the job and a local operator will quote the crane time.

Solar lifts people request

  • Offloading and staging module pallets and racking
  • Setting inverters, transformers, switchgear and battery storage enclosures on pads
  • Steel columns and beams for solar carports and shade structures
  • Lifting module pallets onto flat commercial roofs
  • Equipment for ag and pumping solar systems

What to have ready

  • The heaviest piece and its weight from the equipment submittal
  • Number of picks and whether it's a single day or a recurring schedule
  • Ground conditions at the pads and laydown yard. Loose sand may need mats.
  • Site rules from the general contractor, such as orientation, PPE, lift plans or badging
  • Contact for the person running the lift on site

Utility-scale and commercial

Big solar sites often have their own crane plans, but subcontractors still need cranes for specific scopes like electrical equipment sets, substation work or a short run of picks. Requests of every size are welcome. Yuma County has utility-scale solar under construction; see solar crane rental in Yuma County for local notes.

This site is a free quote-request service, not a crane company. Your request goes to a local crane operator, who quotes and performs the work.

Questions

Can I request a crane for several days or weeks?

Yes. Describe the schedule (days, hours, number of picks per day) in the details, and the operator can quote it as a multi-day job.

Do residential rooftop solar jobs need a crane?

Usually not. Most home rooftop panels are carried up by hand or with a material lift. Cranes are more common for commercial roofs, carports, ground-mount equipment and electrical gear.

What if the general contractor requires a lift plan?

Say so in the request. Many operators can provide lift plans or work from yours. The operator will tell you what they need from you.

Are you a crane company?

No. This site is an independent quote-request service. We pass your request to a local crane operator serving the Yuma area, and that operator quotes and performs the work.
