Equipment people lift with a crane
- Standby generators, transformers and electrical gear
- Water and fuel tanks, pressure vessels and compressors
- Shipping and storage containers
- Packing-shed, cooling and processing equipment
- Farm machinery, pumps and motors
- Spas, hot tubs and large items lifted over a house or wall
What to have ready
- Weight and dimensions, from the nameplate, spec sheet or shipping papers
- Lifting points or lugs, and whether a spreader bar is needed
- Where it is now (on a truck, inside a building, on the ground) and exactly where it needs to go
- Clear path for the crane to park, and anything overhead such as wires, trees or eaves
Inside buildings
A mobile crane can't work under a roof. For equipment going inside, the crane typically sets it at a door or opening, and forklifts, skates or a machinery-moving crew take it the rest of the way. Mention this in the request so the operator can plan the handoff. For packing-shed and cold-storage work, see packing-shed equipment lifts in Yuma.
